In the combat of the altitudes
we often forget greatness.
The resistance of Tibet
is not only the one of a country
but of a true civilization
fighting against the barbarity of a regime.
It is not even solely about
Buddhist teaching
that could have taken place elsewhere.
Must we believe in reincarnation
to save Tibet
from annihilation?
Should we not help
men to cross
a karma beyond their powers?
Across Tibet
it is the rights of humanity
that are trampled and crushed
and we must not expect everything
from a single man.
The need exists
and it is on us carrying it out
without it, humanity
will lose not only
its legendary innocence
but also its wisdom of the future.
