Black and white was that movie too
but it wasn’t nonspeaking like the others
the guttersnipe had grown of course
but he hadn’t changed
he was always sweet and tender
even in the most difficult moments
when all the others would have given up
and this only to help
the men and women that had
even further need
of humaneness and love,
so when I saw it
after so many years
I felt sad again
about the black and white hero.
