12831 - ἦν τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο κεκρυμμένον
N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Evi Charitidou
Not for a moment
did he ever hide the future
and decryption
was not needed
for the word to be read;
except that comprehension
had the same limits
as their intelligence
and if with this
they could not understand
then they could not see
even what
had been said;
because difficult prophecies,
which are not comprehensible
to the disciples
even to those who are on mission,
are comprehended by all
only when they take place;
but they could not
listen to them
whereas they had not had the need
to predict them even
since the words of truth
belonged to the world.
