The potentials of the EEZ for Cyprus and for Greece, are starting to be noticeable by more and more citizens of the two countries of Hellenism. And the economic data came to enhance our high strategy in both cases, especially since we have all the data of the seismic maps, and there are officially the 33 marine plots in the EEZ of Hellenism, if we may use this expression for the total area of the EEZ of the two countries.
The dissecting process is characteristic of the phase change, since the data is of late extroverted. Because each candidate oil company, in order to follow the procedure, they must purchase the seismic maps of each plot for which they are candidates. Consequently, it is clear that the marine plots are a definite proof of the value of our EEZ.
It obtains though even more importance, when we combine through cognitive schemes, the era of the naval combat of Salamis. For this reason we always have in mind the assumption that the EEZ is not only an economic factor, but a real tool of liberation from pressures, and when it in fact functions, from oppression as well. The point is simply,for each country of Hellenism to utilise its EEZ .
Because if there is no declaration of the EEZ with the necessary demarcations, the liberating weapon degenerates into a legal context.
The recent resolution of the European Parliament clearly denounced Turkey’s actions within the Cypriot EEZ, comes to practically demonstrate the geopolitical value of the EEZ.
But we must not forget that if Cyprus had not declared its EEZ in 2004, and had not gone through with the demarcations in 2003, 2007 and 2010, with Egypt, Lebanon and Israel, no one would have been set by her side, even if she was a member of the European Union.
Now, with the data that has been created by all the acts of its high strategy, as a member state, it may be supported officially by the European Union, at the Commission and the European Parliament level, in such manner that it could have a real impact.
The EEZ functions strictly on national level due to the Law of the Sea.
If a country utilises its EEZ, as Cyprus is doing now, and Greece will next, then it activates the whole European context, which comes to its support, as it has to reinforce its decision and in fact for the benefit of the European Union itself.
So in this way, whatever Turkey may say , her unnecessary actions bring negative results.
And can no longer violate Cyprus whenever it sees fit, because she considers her small and isolated. Cyprus, whether Turkey likes it or not, is now a European country with an active EEZ and is getting ready for its liberation.
