19002 - The civilizational thought of Pericles

Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
It is not necessary for he civilizational thought of Pericles to prove its timelessness, since everyone can see its trace in the history of Humanity.
Interestingly, we could see that in the thought of the strategist, the civilization is neither a detail nor of secondary importance.
He was based on energy and strategy in order to build an hegemony at sea, but also as a cognizant of science and arts, he interpreted the instrument of civilization, not in a simplistic fashion, giving it only a political dimension, but as a multiplicity which allowed him to make the difference.
The civilizational thought of Pericles is based on values, not only on principles and for this reason he had chosen the intertemporal.
Pericles didn’t only do festivals so he could have no costs, but at the end of the day nothing remains. Pericles did not see the economy as everyones ultimate goal. He used it merely as an intermediate, nothing more. Pericles did not make investments without strategic plans. Civilization during Pericles’s rule became the spearhead of his strategy. Because you fear and respect the navy, but you admire the civilization and this is even more endurable. And the goal of strategy is not the optimal, but the endurance.
With the civilization, Pericles armoured Hellenism, as Themistocles had protected it with his fleet. It’s a step further and Pericles did it.
