21401 - Religious studies are icons
N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
The religious studies are icons, and those who are trying to eliminate them are iconoclasts and not solely unconstitutional.
Because it’s the Constitution which establishes the legal context, but it is faith that defines religion.
No one is permited to do as they please, just because they suddenly obtained authority.
This authority should be dependent on substance, otherwise it’s meaningless.
In our homeland, we don’t believe that history has expired, nor that religion is the opium of the people
Therefore, both the Church and the Constitution protect the Greek nation from individuals who want to violate them due to expediency.
We’ve managed to overcome the iconoclasts twice, and that at a great cost, because they wanted to diminish us from within.
That always constitutes one of the worst attacks.
It is not therefore coincidental, that we needed so many years in order to defeat the iconoclasts, firstly from 726 to 787, and secondly from 814 to 842, a factor which is indicative of the difficulty.
Because, each time we assume that it is impossible that there are people who are scheming against us, even though our history proves that the opposite exists.
We must therefore be very careful in regards to these details, which are in fact evidence of a culture which tries to influence the people, in order to impose a strategy that it actually wants to cause.
Therefore we must be alert, in order to have a serious attitude towards matters.
