The revolutionary movement of the blue people was born in 1969 as an organization of the Sahara against the Spanish occupation of Western Sahara.
It came into conflict with the Polisario, because it since then wanted, the Western Sahara to be integrated to Morocco, and it believed that its liberation from Spain was an intermediate stage.
Therefore, after the liberation in 1975, it stopped its activities, but its founder, Edouard Moha (Maha R’guibi), created the Association of the people deriving from Sahara which formerly belonged to Spain.
And this Association of course is pro the Moroccan Sahara.
Prior to that, the movement joined on to the liberation and unity Front, which consisted of Saharan movements which were pro the Moroccan position.
Edouard Moha, been a writer, wrote many books on this topic:

It is interesting to keep it in mind when we talk about the Western Sahara, otherwise we’ll be lacking a piece of knowledge, and we wouldn’t be able to explain the developments that we are experiencing, whereas, the elements exist, and they function catalytically towards the liberation from the pressures applied by a State that has never consituted a nation.
