The statements denying the genocide of the Pontian Greeks, are not only dangerous, but also illegal, because Greece has passed the criminalization law re: the denial of recognized genocides. And because barbarism is dangerous it’s prohibited.
That’s what the Pontians demonstration in Thessaloniki indicated also. It is not possible for the Greeks of Pontos to accept, that the Minister himself is a denier of the genocide.
They’re not about to allow their government to not take a stand on this issue.
Because they don’t believe that all politicians are the same.
And some are already taking a stand and they resist against the propaganda of barbarism, which, in the name of the point of view, wants to erase our memory.
But even if it’s deleted from the school books, we will reinstate the matter, because, not all masters and teachers are serviles.
Everyone will resist in order for the denial of the genocide of the Pontian Greeks not to occur.
Because, it is everyone’s duty in a democracy, to resist to the system which attempts to insidiously impose unacceptable positions of a nihilism, which is of the opinion that history is dead, but they forgot the fact, that memory is also our nation and the demonstration is indicative of that.
So when a nation resists on account of its values and says no to oblivion, then democracy must make decisions.
And in this case things are simple, since there is already a legal context which condemns the denial.
Enough with the fairytale, we don’t opt for oblivion.
It will not pass on to our collective memory due to a barbaric system based on nihilism and servility.
The Greeks of Pontus have rights and we ought to protect them.
