22295 - Russian consequences to Turkey

Translated from the Greek by Angeliki Papadopoulou
The turkish regime might believe that Russia is like all the other states that are located in its periphery but this is a clear strategic mistake. Also it might want to play marginally in military level inside the field of action of strategy, but this can’t be true because the geopolitics is not restricted to this level, because there is the energy, the economy, even tourism which are playing an important role in this confrontation. And since Russia considers this to be a betrayal, the shot down of the Sukhoi-24, it couldn’t accept that by one telephone conversation the whole thing could end. And it is not useful for Russia to stop the process at this point, because it could have many advantages in geopolitical level, not only locally in the area. The Russia, which we know that has strategic interests in Syria, is not going to leave the field open for the terrorist organization Daesh. Consequently, any obstacle to the achievement of this target, constitutes a new target and as a consequence a compromise framework is not going to exist. The Russian consequences are only in their beginning and the financial cost will be large for Turkey, especially if we combine it with the fact that America has already decided to send trainers to help the Kurds to deal with the terrorist organization Daesh.
