The presence of the Region of Crete, regarding the information, the workshop, but also the signing re: the EuroAsia Interconnector, is not merely symbolic.
It constitutes a conscious act of an institution, which is dealing responsibly in regards to the developments of the Eastern Mediterranean, in order to participate actively in a project with vision, and it’s not limited to actions which specifically concern the mainland of the island.
This action enhances the range of Crete, and influences positively and effectively the whole of Greece.
And because we had the opportunity to practically work during the Cypriot mission, with the representative of the Region of Crete, we realized that the later, deals substantially with the specific project, as well as the actual course of that project.
Because the EuroAsia Interconnector is not merely concerning a local region, but on the contrary, it functions holistically and it dynamically creates a platform upon which, various innovative functions can be connected.
Consequently, as far as Crete is concerned, the participation and the initiatives in regards to the topographical and geological maps, in conjunction with the selection of the contact zone, is indicative of the responsibility of an institution which fights for the interests of the residents in this new geopolitical chessboard.
It’s not merely concerned with benefits, but it also actively cooperates in order to avoid obstacles, and in finding effective solutions.
Of course, all these efforts may not be obvious, but they exist, and they produce a project which is becoming increasingly visible.
And this alters the reality of our nation as a whole and not just the islands.
We are therefore cooperatively and strategically together in this common struggle, so that the future will live on in Greece.
And the Region of Crete with its energean targeting contributes greatly.
