23052 - A solution without EEZ is no solution but simply a compromise

Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
The Cypriot EEZ is an indisputable fact which altered the data at a national level, and now through the hydrocarbons we are about to utilize it via the agreements and contracts.
The problem is quite simple, and while we’re at this particular phase, we hear some, who are trying to explain to us that we must find a solution in a hurry, because this is the last chance and all that of course, without taking into account the EEZ issue.
As all these criteria remind us of 2004, we understand that the same mental scheme of propaganda is followed. since then as well, prior to us entering the European Union, “we had to come to an agreement in a great hurry”, instead of utilizing the accession factor as we should’ve, and then as well they told us “that it is our last chance”, or otherwise.. . scaremongering was implying that we would not exist anymore thereon.
Then it was regarding the European Union, and now the EEZ.
This is due to the fact that in both cases the initiatives were Cypriot, as Cyprus did not merely follow the developments of the Cypriot issue in order to address the matter, usually with a delay, but nevertheless tried, and succeeded in to addressing more effectively the matter of resolving the Cypriot problem, in an indirect manner and without the usage of the simplistic community context.
So suddenly, when all these successes are a bare fact, and we are in the implementation phase, they want to convince us that we must hurry and not bother about utilizing them.
Then, back in 2004, a solution without EU, was not a solution but a mere compromise. And finally we overcame it, and quite effectively at that.
Now, in 2016, a solution without EEZ is not a solution, but a compromise.
We must realize that, as he who hurries his footsteps errs.
The EEZ has not as yet offered its services, as it’s only now that we are entering the hydrocarbons exploitation phase, and it’s only through this that we will solve the Cypriot issue.
