The Digital Cooperation Organization was founded in November 2020 by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Pakistan. The organization was joined by Djibouti, Morroco, Nigeria, Oman and Ruanda. Now Cyprus is the eleventh nation to join DCO. And it is the first European Union country to do it. This move represents a contribution to the great effort to accelerate the growth of the digital economy. It is also a way to build a sustainable, inclusive and prosperous future. This new development is in correlation with Cyprus national ambitious and strategic objectives. Cyprus is already a bridge in many fields. The Digital Cooperation is a new one. Cyprus which belongs to the European Union and is situated in South Eastern Mediterranean can easily make a new edge in this network. Cyprus has already shown that it’s a country able to reduce barriers for digital start ups and to foster entrepreneurship. That’s why this adhesion to the Digital Cooperation Organization is a real new phase for the country which proves that it’s possible to be innovated when you have strategy.
