6472 - The cry inside the memory
N. Lygeros
Translation: Paola Vagioni
“The woman was being was occupied?
the back turned towards her husband,
who diverted himself as well.
Then she lied down and,
the moment she was stretched out,
pulling back the covers on her,
cried only once,
at length, mouth wide open,
as if she had wanted
to relieve herself instantly
from all the cries
that pain had accumulated on her.”
The beginning of the revolt
began from the lassitude
inside the desert of men
just before giving birth
to the long waited son
in front of the fire of the chimney
where the grapevine branches were burning.
This unique cry anchored her
inside the human memory
like that the stones
opposite the injustice suffered
by the other first man.
