24675 - Crete’s battle
N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
Crete must combine tourism, olive oil production and energy, in an intelligent manner.
The fundamental ingredients towards the success of the aim are, the Greek innovation, the zeolite of Thrace, and the natural gas South of Crete.
Crete must handle the whole context strategically, as it should make important decisions for the future.
In other words, the struggle of Crete is at this point practical, rather than merely a theoretical generality.
There should be a coordination between the forces of the Regional authorities, the municipalities, and the Master Hydrocarbon of the Heraklion TAFE.
Therefore, we will observe zeolite applications to crops, in an attempt to treat fly and then OMW, and thereon, to move more powerfully in the Ultra Premium category, and to simultaneously obtain a local product which attracts tourism without any negatives, since it would result into increased quality and that without any odors whatsoever.
As far as the natural gas is concerned, we will obtain cheaper energy without pollution to the environment.
Additionally all this means that there will be new jobs created, and greater activity in the business world, who will gain a new vision, which would be more effective towards the continuity of Crete.
Based on this foundations we can build the future, which due to necessity, will obtain a developing natural gas network in southern Crete as well, but of course, a road network also, in order to reinforce all these infrastructure at a practical level.
