22006 - The perpetrator of Paedea
N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
When you formally commit an offense while there’s a law, then you’re a perpetrator. And when this offense regards the Paedea, which expression would be more appropriate than that of the perpetrator of Paedea? Because you are trying, based on your role, to influence the youth, who are institutionally bound to follow the program, ie, not to be aware anymore, as to what the Pontian Genocide realy means, and now to actually hear you formally say, that this is not even a genocide at all. The Greeks of Pontus are not interested in the least, whether or not you comprehent their pain, or if you feel for the suffering they came upon. In actual fact they are even indifferent about it. All that matters, is that you don’t opt to rig the results which they have achieved from 1994 onwards. Because thereon, you must explain to us, in your own unique way of the sixth grade intellectual with the scientific point of view, that neither is the Armenian Genocide, which we recognized in 1996, an actual genocide. After all, the right wing extremists in Turkey insist, that it was the Armenians that committed the genocide. Even though, at the University there are graduate and postgraduate studies on the Genocide issue. But what am I saying all this to you for? How could you know all this? Your sole problem is, that the genociders did not do their job well enough, and we were not all genocided. Consequently now, the survivours, the descendants, and the continuity of history, comes to remind you of things which they are not about to forget, even though you didn’t include then in the curriculum, because it is not merely the mater, but also the energy of a nation, which has a future simply because it has a human past
