Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
ENI continues her drilling program as normal. Having made two drillings in the marine plot of the Cypriot EEZ at the Onasagoras and Amathusa reserves, she announced that she would attempt another two drillings in the Egyptian EEZ.
She finished the first successfully and now is about to begin the second.
ENI – KOGAS they are researching the Cypriot EEZ as a consortium, at plots 2, 3 and 9, while TOTAL at 10 and 11.
In the Egyptian EEZ, ENI manages plot 9 (Shorouk) entirely, and plot 8 (North Port Fouad), in joint ventures with BP.
This drilling is taking place now, after the maintenance which was carried out in April 2015 in the shipyards of Marseille.
The Saipem 10000 has a 228 meters length and 19 meters width.
Therefore, we see that ENI proceeds vigorously in the region, which is now on the verge of the Cypriot EEZ.
This practically means that it would actively examine a geological bedrock, which is proportional to the Cypriot marine plot 11, utilized by TOTAL.
And as we know, these companies work closely with the exchange of scientific and technical information.
So, positive results of ENI in the Egyptian field, will have direct implications for TOTAL in the Cypriot one.
We understand that acts of substance are taking place, while others are dealing with movements that have no perspective, as they don’t as yet incorporate the energy and the strategy.
