20674 - There is no solution of the Cypriot question without the EEZ

There is no solution of the Cypriot question without the EEZ. And what we mean by this scheme is simple. Cyprus has established the EEZ in 2004 and has implemented demarcations with Egypt in 2003, with Lebanon in 2004 and Israel in 2010. Since 2011 the research on natural gas has begun in the fields of Aphrodite, Onasagoras and Amathousa. In 2005 there was proof that the field of Aphrodite was marketable. Only that there hasn’t yet progressed onto the phase of extraction which is the most significant implementation of this entire strategic planning that has as a foundation its accession in the European Union. So we must realize that those who are hasty in finding a solution for the Cyprus question during this period, in essence they don’t want to utilize entirely the EEZ and the potential it provides to Cyprus, as a liberation instrument from an enclaved situation. This practically means that they see the benefit of the EEZ and its power, but diplomatically want to avoid it. And yet the EEZ is for all of Cyprus’s communities without an exception, therefore what is their problem? The EEZ has positive energy and must be utilized. This way the solution of the Cyprus question must be based on the European Union and the Cypriot EEZ so that it is not only artificially viable, but just and strategically sound.
