Translated from the Greek by Athena Kehagias
If we want to prepare the energean future of Crete strategically, we must comprehend as from now, that we need seismic measurements South of Crete, not anymore of, 40km x 40km squares, but 10km x 10km, as we have in the Ionian, in order to attract hydrocarbon companies more effectively.
And this can get started as from now, meaning, to put it to use simultaneously with the lisencing round occurring re: the Ionian marine plots.
In this way, we gain valuable time, so that we can then go onto the next licensing round, where Crete will play an active role with its nine marine plots.
Because major changes at a geo-economic level will take place in Crete with these new data, since it is of another magnitude order, and they’ll represent ten times the quantity we have in the Ionian sea.
This means that they should be included in the energean strategic planning, because they have the greatest growth potential for the future of Crete.
It is therefore necessary for the Ministry of Energy to obtain strategic determination.
